....Funnel Cakes return to the Illinois State Fair! 

Funnel cakes are made by pouring batter directly into hot frying oil. The resulting cake is swirly, thin, delicate and crisp. 

These delicious powdered covered deep fried cakes have been around since 1390 A.D. They first began appearing in medieval cooking manuscripts and are an ancient fair tradition. 

These delectable treats are available at many different vendors throughout the Illinois State Fair, along with a plethora of other food a drink items. 

Make sure you make it out to the Illinois State Fair, August 13^th-- 23^rd.
